Medicare.gov – Medicare.gov provides benefits guidance for beneficiaries of Medicare. It also includes detailed information about every Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing home in the county.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services - The website provides benefits guidance for beneficiaries of Medicaid and Medicare.

ElderCare Locator – A free public service that connects older adults and their families with resources and programs designed in your area.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development – Affordable Apartment Search – This locator allows apartment seekers to locate available affordable housing throughout the United States.

State Resources

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program - The IHSS Program will help pay for services provided to seniors, so that they can remain safely in their own home.  The types of services include housecleaning, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, personal care services, medical appointments, and protective supervision for the mentally impaired.

Adult Protective Services - Each county has an Adult Protective Services agency to help elder adults and dependent adults, when these adults are unable to meet their own needs, or are victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation.

Local Resources

Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Program - The PBV program offers rental housing options at specific housing locations. The properties posted here have waiting lists open to the public, which include senior housing. The waiting lists are managed by the LACDA.

211LA - Seniors and Older AdultsThis portal allows seniors to search for and access needed services on their own or with the help of a personal navigator.

Workforce Development Aging & Community Services – Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS) aims to connect individuals to careers and employers to a skilled workforce.

City of Los Angeles Department of Aging – The City of Los Angeles Department of Aging provides community-based services to seniors and their caregivers to ensure the highest quality of life as possible and remain in the community.

Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority - Enhanced Bridge Housing - The program provides designated beds and supportive services for older adults experiencing homelessness.

Center for Health Care Rights - The Center of Health Care Rights is nonprofit health care advocacy organization that assures consumer access to quality health care through education, counseling, informal advocacy, and legal services.
